PCSX2:
It is is the first PS2 emulator that slowly showed us that PS2 emulation is possible. Today it has a large game compatibility that keeps growing with each new version. For a full compatibility list you may want to check the official site before trying to play a game.
The advantage compared to the PS2 console:
- Custom resolution up to 4096×4096, Anti-Aliasing and Texture filtering to make your old PS2 games look better than the HD remakes
- Storage memory card without restriction
- Save states, allows you to quickly save and load practically anywhere
- Easy cheating by using a patch system Pnachi
- Could use a stick controller (PS3, Xbox360 etc.) that works on Windows, keyboard and mouse
- Games or speed can be increased or reduced by using the built-in frame-limiter for fast grinding or through hard spots to slow
- Available support for recording in full HD with built-in video recorder (F12 using GSdx plugin)
